مقدمه
محدودیت منابع کافی، معتبر و مرتبط با تاریخ و فرهنگ ملت آذربایجان برای مدت طولانی مایه تاسف بوده است. در زمینه تحقیقات فرهنگی و تاریخی هنوز این وضعیت به هیچ وجه قابل مقایسه با سایر جاها نیست. چه در کشورهای غربی و چه سایر مناطق جهان اسلام، اسناد بسیاری باقی مانده اند. و تعداد قابل توجهی مجموعه های خصوصی و دولتی در حال نشر و در دسترس عموم هستند.
یافتن بسیاری از مطالب در همین آرشیوها نیز مشکلاتی دارد. و اگر منتشر شوند، اغلب به طور تصادفی در لابلای تعداد زیادی از مجلات٬ روزنامجات٬ خاطره نگاریها و رسانه های اجتماعی پراکنده شده اند. بنابراین، به سختی می توان تصور کرد که چه نوع منابع اولیه با ارزشی٬ اعم از منتشر شده و منتشر نشده موجود می باشند.

هدف پروژه حاضر کاهش مشکلات دسترسی اولیه به بایگانی ها و مجموعه ها٬ دستیابی آسان به تعداد فزاینده اسناد منتشر شده و حفظ مدارک تحت خطر زوال و فرسایش در زیر چتر یک نام می باشد. این پروژه٬ آرشیو مجازی از اسناد مرتبط با آذربایجانیها ایجاد می کند که به راحتی قابل دسترس است و گزینه های جستجوی دقیق را ارائه می دهد. و این نخستین قدم برای ایجاد مرکز آذربایجانشناسی با قرار دادن اطلاعات مربوط به آذربایجان در اختیار مردم جهان در قالب دانشنامه/ اینسکلوپدیا می باشد.
درباره ما
آذربایجانیکا یک بنیاد بین المللی، مرکز تحقیقاتی کلیدی غیر سیاسی٬ غیر مذهبی و غیر انتفاعی برای ملت آذربایجان و سایر ترکان ایران جهت رسیدگی به مسائل فرهنگی و تاریخی از طریق پژوهشهای مستقل و گفتگوی آزاد برای بهبود فرهنگ و حیات این مردمان است.
آذربایجانیکا به مطالعه تمدن آذربایجان اختصاص دارد. کارهای علمی مرجع توسط آذربایجانیکا در نهایت همه جنبه های تاریخ و فرهنگ آذربایجان و همچنین زبان٬ فولکلور و ادبیات ترکی آذربایجانی را پوشش خواهد داد و طیف وسیعی از تحقیقات آذربایجانشناسی را شامل خواهد شد که در قدم اول از تاریخ معاصر شروع شده٬ به تدریج به دوره های پیشتر از آن خواهد پرداخت.
آذربایجانیکا یک پروژه تحقیقاتی بین المللی و مشارکتی از «شرکت بنیاد آذربایجانیکا» [رسما ثبت خواهد شد] می باشد. آذربایجانیکا برای رسیدن به دستاوردهای بالای علمی ممکن است از اشخاص مستقل، دانشگاهها٬ مراکز علمی٬ بنیادها٬ اتحادیه های بین المللی و شرکتهای تجاری حمایت مالی دریافت نماید. در حال حاضر این برنامه با پشتیبانی افراد انگشت شماری از موسسین این بنیاد انجام می پذیرد.
آذربایجانیکا در سپتامبر۲۰۲۱/ مهرماه ۱۴۰۰ با هدف جمع آوری نسخه های دیجیتالی و چاپی اسناد، کتابها و نشریات مربوط به تاریخ و فرهنگ آذربایجان و تدوین یک دایره المعارف یا انسکلوپدیا با تضمین استقلال فکری آذربایجانیکا تاسیس شد.
دفتر مرکزی آذربایجانیکا در کلانشهر تورنتو- کانادا مستقر است٬ ضمن اینکه سعی می کند در سایر کشورها شعبه داشته باشد.

آذربایجانیکا نه تنها برای کسانی که به فرهنگ و حیات ملت آذربایجان علاقه دارند، بلکه برای دانشجویان، متخصصان و خوانندگان عمومی تحصیل کرده که به رشته های مختلف دانشگاهی علاقه مند هستند، مفید است.

Giriş
Azərbaycan xalqının tarix və mədəniyyəti ilə bağlı demək olar ki, uzun müddətdən bəri kifayət qədər, etibarlı və onunla əlaqədar mənbələrolmaması təəssüf doğurur. Mədəni və tarixi tədqiqatlar sahəsində hələ də bu vəziyyət başqa yerlərlə müqayisə oluna bilməz. İstər Qərbdə, istərsə İslam dünyasının digər yerlərində bir çox sənədlər qalmaqdadir. İctimaiyyətə təqdim edilmək üçün çox sayda şəxsi və dövləti kolleksiyalar nəşr olunmaqdadır.
Bu arxivlərdə mövzuların bir çoxuna əl tapmaqda problemlər var. Hətta, bu mövzular haqda sənədlər çap olunarsa, çox vaxt onların əksəriyyəti pərakəndə şəkildə bir çox jurnal, qəzet, xatirə və sosial mediyada çap olunur. Bu üzdın də istər nəşr olunmuş və istərsə də nəşr olunmamış hansı növ ilkin mənbələrin dəyərli olduğunu təsəvvür etmək çətindir.
Hökumət arxivləri yalnız böyük səylə məhdud müddətə əldə edilə bilər. Hələ də müxtəlif qurumlar arasında bir çox sənəd mübadiləsi aparılsa da, bir çoxu hələ də şəxsi kolleksiyalarda saxlanılmaqdadır.
Bu layihənin məqsədi arxivlərə və kolleksiyalara ilkin giriş problemlərini azaltmaq, nəşri artan sənədlərə asanlıqla tapmaq həmçinin sənədləri eroziya riskindən qorumaq üçün bir yerdə toplayıb və saxlamaqdır.
